Sager Brown Mission Trip
September 24-29, 2023A Video From A Former Work Group At Sager Brown Highlighting What Sager Brown Is About.

September 24-29, 2023, Plymouth Park UMC will be taking a team to work in the depot and in the surrounding community of Baldwin, LA.
We’ll spend our days taking inventory of cleaning kits, preparing health kits, sewing bags for school supplies, and loading up trailers to go out to the mission field. There is an abundance of other projects, too, like wheelchair ramp construction, tending to the community garden, minor repair work to the property, and sorting clothing donations for the local woman’s shelter.
The Sager Brown Depot of the United Methodist Committee on Relief (or UMCOR) is one of two disaster relief warehouses maintained by the United Methodist Church.
Floor to ceiling, the building is stocked with health kits, cleaning kits, layette kits, and school supplies ready to be shipped anywhere around the world to communities in crisis. There are only three full time staff in the warehouse – all the rest of the work is done throughout the year by volunteers who come from United Methodist Churches around the country.

We will stay on campus at Sager Brown in their dorm-style lodgings with hot meals, showers, and comfortable beds. Arrangements available for couples who prefer to share a room. For more information, contact Rev. Audrua Welch Malvaez at audrua@ppumc.org
