Great Days of Service Offers Volunteer & Donation Opportunities
Mark your calendars for March 20, 21, 27 & 28 as PPUMC again partners with several Irving organizations for the 18th Annual Great Days of Service. GDS invites you, your family & friends, Sunday school classes, service organizations and company teams to join us.
Volunteers are needed to work on area homes, lead a PPUMC work team, or assist with other activities to support house volunteers and homeowners. Your donations of food, water, money, or building materials also benefit our neighbors. Be sure to visit the GDS sign-up table on Sundays, starting February 2.
Home worksites are currently being identified and vetted, and Information will be available soon if you or your neighbors would like to apply for assistance with home repairs. Additional details will be available in the coming weeks in PPUMC church emails, newsletter and online at http://gdsirving.org.
GDS is one of several mission projects receiving funds from PPUMC’s Communion Rail Offerings and other member donations.
Communion Service to Homebound
We have several members of our church family in assisted living facilities or at home who are no longer able physically to attend services onsite. These previously active members would love a visit and to receive communion once a month. There are no special requirements. Anyone can serve, and training is provided. If you’re interested or have questions, contact Audrua at audrua@ppumc.org or (972) 255-4185.
Community Egg Hunt & Cookout
Bring your kids, grandkids, and neighbors to a festive community Easter Egg Hunt on Palm Sunday, April 5th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. We will grill hot dogs, bounce in bounce houses, hunt for eggs, and have a lot of fun! We will have more information soon about donations of candy and small toys to fill 3,000 eggs…and a time to get together and stuff the eggs.
Field Trip to the Islamic Center of Irving
Join the 2020 confirmation class as they learn about neighboring faiths here in Irving. On March 1st, they will visit the Islamic Center of Irving at 2:30 p.m. If you would like to join them, contact Jack (jack@ppumc.org) or sign up online (see church email). We’ll meet at the church at 2:00 p.m. to travel there as a group.
Weekly Volunteers Needed
The church office needs volunteers for a variety of weekly activities and tasks such as answering phones, receiving guests, replenishing children’s worship materials, entering attendance data, shredding/recycling and more. Please contact Kathy at kathy@ppumc.org or (972) 255-4185 for more information. Training is provided.
